Waiting List Coordinary/Recepionist PIU Full Time 37.5 hours per week - Permanent

Applications are invited from hard working and organised individuals to provide a high quality administrative service based within the Procedure Investigation Department within the Medicine Business Unit. You will be based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Main duties of the job

Applications are invited from hard working and motivated individuals to the above post. The post holder will provide comprehensive administration/reception duties to support the Procedure Investigation Unit, Consultant and junior medical staff, nurses and multidisciplinary teams within the Medicine Business Unit. The post holder will be a first point of contact for service users over the telephone and face to face.

Proactively manages patients referred for elective treatment or other procedures, add to waiting lists/ensure VBC compliance, calculate pathway dates, schedule appointments, treatment or other procedures, monitor progress, identify potential breaches & liaise with clinician/other parties to resolve, plan and manage effective utilisation of Clinical diaries.

Main point of contact for patient and third parties (eg other clinicians, GP, police, social care, legal) to resolve queries, respond to requests for information or notify third party of information as required by clinicians.

Collating performance information as required by clinicians or service management.

  • NVQ 3 Certificate in Business Administration or equivalent experience
  • OCR/RSA 3 in Typing or Word Processing or equivalent experience

Experience

  • Experience of working in secretarial or office environment
  • Experienced in using Microsoft Office packages

  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate good organisational planning skills
