Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join the Medical Business Unit working on a 25 bedded Acute Medical Ward.

The successful candidate would be expected to work as part of the team to deliver high standards of patient care responsive to patient's needs. There would be an expectation that you would be flexible and able to work to work a variety of shifts days, nights and weekends in order to accommodate the needs of the service.

The post holder will possess the ability to be able to work alone and with the wider supporting team, and work collaboratively with external agencies. You will be expected to demonstrate and role model the uppermost professional standards.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide personal care for patients.
  • Manual handling.
  • To help maintain a clean and safe department.
  • Ability to recognise the signs of the deteriorating patient and alert qualified staff accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate record keeping and documentation within patients' records, integrated care pathways and electronic systems.
  • The overall purpose of the post holder will be to provide support the registered nursing team.
