Job summary
The post holder will support Admin Co-ordinator and AAA Screening Management Team/Admin Team to assist with data entry for the National Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening Programmes.
To actively monitor appointments for AAA screening using the relevant screening software systems.
Liaise with the relevant staff to ensure effective patient management and utilisation of clinics & appointments.
To handle any queries or telephone enquiries received in an accurate and professional manner, also support/deal with queries/enquiries passed by team members.
Be responsible for training of new staff within screening service.
Allocate tasks and workloads to team members.
Manage own workload by prioritising tasks accordingly in order to meet screening targets and deadlines.
Ensure compliance with Trust policies and procedures and all departmental work procedures relating to screening service.
Ensure that an effective and efficient service is provided to meet the needs of clients, patients & staff.
Manage the daily activities undertaken by staff ensuring accurate data input.
Provide assistance and support to all staff and undertake any duties that may be required to meet the demands of the service.
Maintain the GP details and GP groups in order that the systems are able to include all eligible men relevant to the screening service.

Main duties of the job
Deal with anxious patients with tact, persuasion, patience and discretion
Demonstrate a sensitive and professional approach to client groups
Recognise where communication difficulties arise and overcome barriers to understanding
Work alongside other screening staff within the Business Unit
Keeps the senior staff informed of workload and seeks advice where necessary
Handle routine and non-routine enquiries by letter/email and telephone
