Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Team Leader to join the North East Bowel Cancer Screening Programme Hub which supports Bowel Cancer Screening Services for a population of 8.85 million.
As Team Leader the post holder will assist in maintaining bowel cancer screening and symptomatic FIT services for an NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Hub, co-ordinating and supervising activities for both admin and laboratory functions. The role includes liaison with screening centres, analytical testing and reporting of returned faecal samples, acting as first point of contact on the national Freephone helpline, as well as helping in the significant quantities of outgoing mail (invitations, reminders, test packs and results) using bespoke software and complex mailroom equipment as part of the call and re-call of the national programme.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will work as part of the integrated administrative and laboratory based team, working to meet the national targets and standards set by the NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Programme (NHS BCSP).
