An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Older Persons Mental Health Services to join a highly motivated and dynamic team delivering person centered care for patients within our newly opened Sunniside Ward; a 10 Bedded, Functional Assessment ward. This is a newly developed post as we drive to bring clinical expertise and leadership into the team.
The successful candidate will be a Registered Mental Health Nurse with the drive , enthusiasm and experience to work as part of a collective leadership team to lead the team through the next phase of transformation. You should have significant experience of working within Older Peoples Mental Health, be able to demonstrate a patient-centred approach, excellent assessment, risk management and care planning skills, work effectively within a multi-disciplinary approach and model caring and compassionate behaviours. The ideal candidate will also have experience of leading teams through service improvement. You will have the opportunity to maximise your current skill set and will be supported to develop new ones. We are committed to support staff training/development needs.
Main duties of the job
To be responsible and accountable for ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and efficient care to Service users as allocated within the designated pathway.
Practice autonomously within the Pathway and in accordance with local and trust Policy, Protocols, Standards and Guidelines.
Provide clinical advice, leadership and supervision to other staff within the team.
Contribute to the appraisal and personal development of clinical staff. Support with the management of performance if this is identified as an issue.
Identify, organise and where appropriate, lead on the delivery of relevant clinical training, in order to ensure the highest standard of evidence based clinical interventions.
Undertake audits and lead on the associated action plans.
Demonstrate clinical excellence in relation to clinical reasoning and decision making when managing complex cases.
Support the team managers with service and team development.
Provide direct Clinical Interventions at an Advanced Practitioner level.
To provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity.
