We are looking to recruit a Logistics Co-ordinator to provide a responsive and effective managed equipment service (MES) within the existing theatres team to support internally but to also support a 3rd party offsite customer. Duties will include the replenishment of goods, ordering of stocks and decanting goods within the theatres department but then carrying out the same role at the off site customer.
You must be able to work effectively as part of a team under pressure and have a flexible attitude to your work to meet the service needs of the department.
Candidates must have excellent inter-personal skills and have the capacity to relate to a wide variety of customers and a full clean UK driving licence.
Main duties of the job
Ensures an effective and efficient e procurement service is provided to end users. Ensures all catalogues are processed correctly and usage trends are quickly spotted enabling achievement of cost savings. Influence end users and help to standardise and rationalise products and services. Assist senior staff to implement change to deliver for clients and continuously improve the service and enhance procurement expertise.

We provide a range of non- clinical services to GHNT and other NHS organisations. Our services include: estates, facilities services, procurement, medical engineering and devices, endoscopy decontamination and sterile services, transport, out-patient pharmacy, and prevention & management of violence & aggression training (PMVA). In addition we provide consultancy services, advising clients on all aspects of establishing a subsidiary company within an NHS body to the provision of VAT compliance advice.

- Analyse spend reports.
- Take responsibility for the purchase of goods of low value
- Complete quotation exercises using the e tendering portal.
- Negotiate with suppliers in line with EU legislation and commercial and contact law/SFI.
- Develop and implement innovative ways to evaluate tenders and quotation returns to maximise commercial returns.
- Ensure that all orders are processed correctly, usage trends are analysed.
- Achieve cost savings through the use of procurement and sourcing solutions.
- Load, delete and maintain all electronic catalogues liaise with colleagues on this.
- Use monthly KPIs information to spot frequently ordered items which should be added to catalogues.

Make use of the national contracts available but where appropriate decide when a bespoke
- quotation exercise would offer better value.
- As part of the mini tender process research suppliers.
- Negotiate with suppliers and user departments to ensure optimum value for money and transparent decision making.
- Develop and enhance key supplier relationships and explore new business opportunities.
Deal with queries and unpaid invoices.
Advice and support clients
- Listen and engage about stock options, answer queries and resolve complaints for clients.
- Supervise the work of the team and ensure a courteous and quality service is delivered.
- Provide information for clients of any potential issues in the supply chain to ensure adequate stock of alternatives are available.
- Advise clients on the cost benefits of supply chain, lean principles.
Accurately place orders onto the catalogues.
Receipt and distribution of stock
- Report any issues with receipt and distribution.
- Use manual handling equipment to carry out routine lifting duties in line with H&S Trust policy.
- Understand and follow routine supply chain receipting procedures to ensure agreed levels of service are achieved.
- Take responsibility for cross checking the good received against the goods ordered documentation.
- Make sure goods are made available for delivery to wards and departments.
Ensure all receipt and distribution points and stock rooms are kept tidy and meet the H&S standards
- Advice clients and colleagues of the most cost effective supply routes.
- Follow the Trusts corporate governance rules and implement supply chain policies and procedures.
