Job summary
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Security Officer to join our team at South West London & St George's Mental Health Trust. You will play a key role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors across our mental health sites. This is a dynamic and rewarding role that requires vigilance, empathy, and a proactive approach to managing safety and security.
You will provide support to the Security department and effectively manage contractors and escort them to their place of work and supervise them and their tools, assuring that all Policies and Procedures are always followed.
Main duties of the job
o To support supervisor to make sure that, 24-hour Security of the Trust Sites and Property is maintained.
o To support supervisor to make sure that, 24-hour monitoring of the Trust CCTV system is maintained.
o Patrols of the Trust grounds and property both internal and external.
o Securing and checking of doors, windows and possible access and egress routes.
o Provide instruction and advice to visitors, contractors and other staff as required.
o To keep the Supervisor informed and briefed on all on going issues found while carrying out duties.

Eviction of trespassers.
Patrols of the Trust grounds and property both internal and external.
Securing and checking of doors, windows and possible access and egress routes.
To challenge all persons found unescorted in secure areas not wearing an Identity Badge.
Assisting with the search for missing Service Users.
Carrying out all of the required car parks and internal road checks for crime prevention and illegal parking.
Issuing Parking Charge Notices in accordance with the Trust Parking Terms & Conditions.
Assisting with cash collection and transfer from Trust sites when requested.
To enforce the Trusts no Smoking policy.
Report and record all incidents.
To complete all relevant incident reports on the Trust electronic reporting system.
To support the Supervisor in their duties as requested or required.
To effectively operate the Switchboard outside of working hours.
To complete all paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
To comply with all Trust policy and procedures.
To comply with all Service Provider policy and procedures.
To complete all relevant training provided by the Trust and Service Provider.
To wear only Trust approved Service Provider issued uniform.
To attend Security supervision with the Supervisor on a Bi-monthly basis.
