Job summary

We are excited to announce we are recruiting a full time Band 6 Specialist Nurse Practitioner/CPN for our new Enhanced Treatment team (ETT) which will provide support in the community and in patients homes to improve accessibility. No previous eating disorder experience is necessary and full support will be given to develop expertise in this area. Community experience and crisis management experience as well as a full UK drivers' licence would be desirable.

You will take clinical responsibility for the clients allocated to you under the supervision of the Team Leader and Advance nurse practitioner. You will deliver and provide nursing evidence-based treatment, that of Clinical Management and Specialist Supportive Clinical Management (SSCM) which you will be trained in. The post holder will be expected to support clients from the Wandsworth, Richmond, Sutton, Merton and Kingston in their homes and the community. You will be expected to provide physical health monitoring where required and keep up to date with all the required mandatory and statutory training.

Main duties of the job

The role requires the post-holder to take supervised clinical responsibility for a caseload of clients suffering from eating disorders and to provide specialist clinical nursing care to clients under the supervision of the Team Leader and advance nurse practitioner. This will include conducting new patient assessments into the service, acting as named nurse for clients under CPA, being instrumental in involving clients in planning and evaluating their treatment and also where required providing physical health monitoring. The post holder will liaise with other services or professionals as necessary, co-ordinating the effective transfer of in-patients to the community team, and undertake group work as appropriate. The post holder will be expected to maintain excellent documentation/record keeping and correspondence, and work as part of the MDT team to achieve the highest possible care for the client group. Liaising with clients' families and carers as appropriate and to carefully plan discharges and aftercare is also essential.
