Job summary

We have an exciting secondment opportunity for a new - Deputy Trust Secretary, working at the heart of our SWLSTG Mental Health Trust, to support excellent decision making processes that will help us deliver high quality mental health services.

Based at Springfield Hospital, alongside the nation's most modern mental health facilities, you will work closely with the Board and the executive team to ensure that the Trust is well led.

Main duties of the job

o With the Director of Corporate Governance, ensure the Board of Directors, their Committees and the Executive Leadership team are properly constituted, convened, operated and supported

o Provide expert and specialist governance advice to the Board of Directors and the Executive Leadership Team to support the effective discharge of their responsibilities, to achieve the Trust's objectives.

o Provide the full range of specialist company secretarial services to the Board of Directors, Board committees and Executive meetings allocated to the post holder including planning and organisation of meetings; the forward planning of business; the timely planning, preparation, submission and issuing of agendas, reports, supporting papers and minutes for all meetings; properly recording decisions made and their context.

o Support the Director of Corporate Governance in ensuring that advice is provided on all matters relating to statutory and legislative compliance, including the NHS Code of Governance and other best practice in corporate governance.

o Management of the Trust's corporate governance team

To create the very best environment to care for our patients, this site's layout will be transformed in 2026 to add a number of wards to the existing three. Tolworth has a canteen and is near shops, the A3, Tolworth station, and is a bus ride from Surbiton station, with fast connections to Clapham Junction and London Waterloo.
