Main duties of the job

As Team Manager for the Sutton and Merton Complex Needs Service, you will provide leadership, ensuring high-quality psychological care for individuals with Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder. You'll oversee daily operations, manage staff and work closely with the Clinical Lead and Consultant Psychiatrists to deliver evidence-based therapies like DBT and MBT.

Key responsibilities include performance management, supervision, and workforce planning, ensuring service targets are met while fostering a supportive, inclusive team culture. You'll drive service improvements, manage resources effectively, and ensure adherence to clinical governance, safeguarding, and Trust policies.

  • Educated to degree level in a health or social care discipline.
  • Evidence of continuing professional and personal development
  • Registered professional with NMC, HCPC or relevant professional body

Desirable

  • Professional management qualification at diploma level or above
  • Project Management qualification e.g. PRINCE2 foundation level

Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience of working in a health or social care management role
  • Experience of working with people who experience serious ongoing mental health problems including personality disorders
  • Experience of managing and supervising staff
  • Experience of managing and monitoring budgets
  • Experience of contributing to policy and procedure development and implementation

  • Project or change management experience
