Job summary
Are you passionate about working with adults with eating disorders and about social work? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you, to work part time as a social worker in the adult eating disorders service.
We are seeking an experienced social worker, who is enthusiastic and committed to working with clients who experience severe eating disorders (some of whom may be difficult to engage).
Main duties of the job
The role will require good organisation and time-management skills, creative thinking/problem solving, as well as teamwork and passion. The postholder will have the ability to work with a high level of autonomy and manage their own workload, as well as offer supervision to other social workers. They will have experience of working with adults with mental health diagnoses, ideally eating disorders.
The role will also require good knowledge of mental health and social care legislation, the ability to lead on Care Act assessments and referrals, safeguarding issues within the team, and liaison with adult and children social care services in the 5 London boroughs that our Trust covers, as well as with external providers within the National inpatient service. The post holder will have experience of liaising with multiple agencies in order to arrange aftercare and specialist placements.

Springfield University Hospital, Tooting
Our largest, 19-ward site is in Springfield Village, created following our £150m investment into two new world class mental health facilities. A 32-acre public park, shops and cafes are coming soon. Close to shops, cafes and Tooting Bec on the Northern Line plus Earlsfield and Tooting rail stations and bus routes.
