Job summary
We are looking to recruit a team member to join an active Procurement department seeking to provide continuous improvement in its services to the Trust. Procurement is part of the Finance Directorate which supports staff development and opportunities to develop skills.
You will be joining a small team with responsibility to help support the care of patients and ensure quality and value for money is achieved when it buys goods and services.
We welcome applicants who want to take an interest in procurement as a profession. On the job, remote and in person training is encourage. Membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply or having an interest in attaining professional qualifications is desirable
Main duties of the job
This role will require an ability to work on their own initiative, take ownership of tasks and be pro-active in suggesting improvements; as well as working collectively with the team members and other colleagues. In return, as a mental health trust, we are especially aware of the need to care about staff's health and wellbeing. There is also a blended approach to working both at home and in the office.

- Maintains a contemporary understanding of the goods and services markets appropriate for supporting the provision of high quality mental health services.
- Assists with the research into and evaluation of new sources of supply.
- Ensures that orders are placed in a form acceptable to the trust and utilising whatever manual or electronic means is appropriate.
