Job summary

Jupiter Ward is a 21 bedded male and female acute admission ward for patients requiring assessment and/or treatment for working age adults. The service provision is 24 hours seven days a week. The team is Multidisciplinary and you will have a role in working collaboratively with service users and families. There is a team approach to the management of the caseload.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has come up on Jupiter Ward for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 5 nurse to join our multidisciplinary team.

The post holder will work as part of the Multidisciplinary Team and enhance their clinical skills within the acute ward setting. You will be involved in the admission and discharge process, liaising with community teams, daily risk assessments and mental state examinations. The post holder will work holistically with service users to ensure excellent patient-centred care and safe discharge into the community. You will be passionate about mental health, believe in the recovery model and our Trust values, and work collaboratively with service users and their families.

Our Trust headquarters is located within the impressive grounds of Springfield University Hospital in Tooting and we also operate in nearly 100 other locations throughout the UK. This is easily accessible via the Northern Line (Tooting Bec Station) and via private transport. The Trust provides subsidised parking fares for all our substantive staff. Our main site is located immediately next to Tooting High Street where staff can easily access a range of shops, cafs and restaurants.

The post holder will deliver high quality safe nursing care, ensuringconsistently high standards of practice and clinical excellence which comply with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) code of professional conduct.

The role includes leading the delivery of comprehensive service userassessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of person-centeredcare in a collaborative way. The post holder will co-ordinate a first classservice that includes assessment and monitoring of physical health,maintaining service users rights, supervising junior staff and students, working collaboratively with the Multi-Disciplinary Team and maintaining a safe and therapeutic working environment and accurate records.
