Job summary

Our Social Care CAMHS team is seeking a motivated, skilled and adaptable Psychologist. If you are passionate about young people's mental health and improving outcomes for children who are looked after by the local authority or on Child in Need or Child Protections plans, we would like to hear from you.

We are a valued resource within the local authority and are committed to implementing trauma informed approaches and providing specialist expertise to Social Workers and Families to improve the outcomes for children involved with Social Care.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with young people who are struggling with a range of difficulties in mental health and social care.

In this role you will be a key member of the team and will be involved in offering consultations to social workers and foster carers, running a foster carer's group, providing individual assessments and interventions directly to young people and training social workers. We are a small team who work closely together and have input to a large number of cases.

Desirable

  • Training as part of a CYP IAPT collaborative in a recognised evidenced based approach
  • Training in DDP/EMDR/CBT-TF or another trauma focused intervention

EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience of working with children and young people in a variety of community settings
  • Experience of multi-disciplinary team working
  • Experience of inter-agency working
  • Experience of safeguarding and Child Protection
  • Experience of Supervising

Desirable

  • Experience of Supervising Trainees
  • Experience of leading case reviews
  • Experience of working in the NHS
