Burntwood Villas ward is a community rehabilitation unit at Springfield Hospital. Burntwood provide a step down rehabilitation facility for individuals from forensic, complex rehabilitation, out of area services and acute pathway to prevent longer than required lengths of stay and provide a care pathway that fully enables recovery whilst offering a service that is most cost effective. Burntwood villas ward is a locked Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit which cares for both Male and Female patients. The ward provides Rehabilitation Service for patients transferring either from within the Trust or placed outside of the Trust and is a 'springboard' towards more Community-based accommodation.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will need to be an enthusiastic, energetic Registered Mental Health Nurse. You will possess excellent communication and report writing skills and are keen to develop professionally in this role.

The successful candidate is expected to work with the rehab workforce in developing the highest standards of care possible and providing high quality nursing care and leadership. He/she will be a highly skilled and well-motivated individual with considerable experience of working in a dynamic mental health service.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team but receive appropriate support and guidance from a senior member of staff. You will have responsibility for the assessment, implementation, and evaluation of care to an allocated number of patients within a primary nurse system.

We are looking for friendly, approachable nurses able to balance the need to maintain effective security while building a therapeutic alliance with patients and at the same time deliver high quality of care within rehab mental health environment.

Experience in rehab, acute and forensic settings is desirable but not essential, but you must have experience of working in a health & social care environment. You must have a proven ability to work effectively in a team and have excellent communication and IT skills.
