This is an exciting opportunity to work for a dynamic Early Intervention for Psychosis team in the borough of Sutton, part of South West London and St Georges NHS Foundation Trust. The post is for 0.4 FTE (2 days a week).You will work as part of the multidisciplinary team to provide psychological assessments and interventions to people experiencing a first episode of psychosis, including CBTp and Family Interventions The team is well provisioned for psychological therapy, with other part-time clinical psychologists and a full time CBT therapist, plus trainees who all provide a range of individual, group and family interventions. You will join a wider group of early intervention psychologists and CBT therapists working in EIS teams across the trust. We have an ongoing program of development and improvement, including developing specialist interventions for psychosis, trauma informed care and improving services for minority groups. There are opportunities for involvement with the Surrey DClin training course. Band 7 preceptorships will be considered if less than 18 months post-qualification experience
Main duties of the job
To provide a qualified clinical psychology service to clients of the Sutton Early Intervention Service.
Provide highly specialist psychological assessment and therapy to service users including CBTp and Family Interventions.
Offering advice and consultation on clients' psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other, non-professional carers.
To supervise trainee clinical psychologists and band 7 CBT therapist
Working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures.
To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the team/service.
The post holder will be expected to work in health, social care and other community settings (including outpatient clinics), clients' and their relatives' homes, inpatient and other hospital settings, and any other settings in which the client is most appropriately managed.

- To provide specialist psychological assessments of clients referred to the team based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources including psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the clients care.
- To formulate and implement plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of a clients mental health problems, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of the clients problems, and employing methods based upon evidence of efficacy, across the full range of care settings.
- To be responsible for implementing a range of psychological interventions for individuals, carers, families and groups, within and across teams employed individually and in synthesis, adjusting and refining psychological formulations drawing upon different explanatory models and maintaining a number of provisional hypotheses.
- To evaluate and make decisions about treatment options taking into account both theoretical and therapeutic models and highly complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes that have shaped the individual, family or group.
