This is an exciting and unique opportunity to join the Older People CMHT service in Richmond (Barnes) and Kingston (Tolworth) in the heart of South West London as a Consultant Psychiatrist.
This is an exciting opportunity to join two established community mental health teams. We are looking for individuals who will demonstrate a commitment to clinical excellence and an ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, in order to provide medical leadership to the team. This is a varied role and will include working across the Memory Assessment Service and the Recovery and Support Teams in two locations- Richmond and Kingston.

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be a Consultant Psychiatrist providing medical leadership to the Older People CMHT service and will provide medical consultant psychiatric advice to patients.
The postholderwill have responsibility for the diagnostic assessment and treatment of older adult psychiatric patients from the designated area accepted by the service. The outpatient clinics and the home visits in the community will constitute the majority of the direct clinical care.
The Consultant will carry overall responsibility for the day-to-day clinical care, risk assessment, risk management, initiation of medication, and the recovery focused care delivered by the Team. Where problems arise, the Consultant will be afforded robust support by his clinical Team Manager, Associate Clinical Director, the Clinical Director and where necessary the Medical Director and Chief Executive.
We are looking for a consultant with the interest and skills in providing strong medical leadership to take our services forward.The role is being offered on a two-year fixed term basis at 10 PA's.
