Job summary

Wandsworth Single Point of Access Team (WSPA) provides a borough-based assessment only service for adults aged 18-74, whereby all referrals are channelled through our team, and directed to receive appropriate care either within the Trust or in Primary care.

We work closely with the community recovery and support teams, early intervention, crisis resolution & home treatment teams and the AMHP service. We work in close partnership with GP commissioners and other key partners, including voluntary organisations.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a motivated and proactive individual to join our busy team who is able to demonstrate a high degree of autonomy in assessing patient's mental health care needs, and who can deliver a caring and safe service in a timely and organized way. This is a friendly and supportive team.

About the location:

Our Trust headquarters is located within the impressive grounds of Springfield University Hospital in Tooting and we also operate in nearly 100 other locations throughout the UK.

This is easily accessible via the Northern Line (Tooting Bec Station) and via private transport. The Trust provides subsidised parking fares for all our substantive staff. Education and Qualification

Essential

  • RMN, social worker or occupational therapist with current relevant registration
  • Mentorship qualification

Desirable

  • Diploma/BSC in Community nursing
  • Evidence of post registration training related to the provision of relevant psychosocial interventions

Experience and Knowledge

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience of working with people who experience serious ongoing mental health problems in a variety of settings
  • Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience of assessing and managing crisis with those with a severe mental illness
  • Experience of providing thorough baseline mental health assessments and case formulation based on these

Desirable

  • Experience of working in community nursing
  • Experience of working in a CMHT or other community health setting
  • Experience of contributing to policy and procedure development and implementation
