We are recruiting to a newly funded which is available on a part time or full-time basis within the Tier 3 CAMHS services in the London Borough of Kingston, Merton, and Richmond
For this role there will be an emphasis on enabling young people to transition from Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services to Adult Services, a focus on young people aged 17 and upwards. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a knowledgeable clinician with experience of working with young people and their families to work at the interface of CAMHS and adult services, ensuring that the young person is supported. Undertaking assessments and interventions, risk management and liaising with mental health counterparts will all be part of this innovative new role.
Main duties of the job
The role will be based one of our Tier 3 CAMHS teams who support young people with moderate to severe mental health difficulties. The post holder will need to develop strong links with Adult Mental Health services. The post holder will provide consultation, care co-ordinate with adult services, as well as offering some assessment and evidence-based interventions when required by the service.
This is an exciting new role and will include regular opportunities for individual supervision to support your development. You will be working in a multi-disciplinary team and will have regular opportunities for support and training.
This post offers an opportunity to develop this new CAMHS transition's role. In some boroughs you will be expected to work closely with the equivalent adult transition worker role who will be working with young people aged 18-25 in adult mental health teams. There may be some scope to deliver some joint work for families.

Essential
- Qualified Clinical Psychologist registered with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist under the domain of Clinical Psychologist OR Qualified Systemic Family Psychotherapist registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) via the College of Family Couple and Systemic Therapy, and post-graduate qualification in relevant mental health/social welfare profession with demonstrable practice over a minimum of four years.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Post qualification training in the clinical supervision of trainees.
Desirable
- Training as part of a CYP IAPT collaborative in a recognised evidenced based approach.
- Formal training in the supervision of a psychotherapeutic modality.
- Further training in a recognised evidence-based psychological therapy.
Experience
Essential
- Consolidated experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients across the full range of care settings, including outpatient, community, primary care, and in-patient settings.
- Consolidated experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse.
- Demonstrate further specialist training and experience by having received a minimum of 50 hours of clinical supervision of working as a specialist psychologist or psychotherapist over a minimum of 18 months
