Job summary
We are advertising for a Band 8a clinical psychologist to work predominantly in our multi-agency integrated Single Point of Access for Kingston and Richmond CAMHS. There are also opportunities within the role for assessment and therapeutic work within our Tier 3 CAMHS services which specialise in the provision of specialist mental health assessments and evidence-based interventions for children and young people presenting to the service with moderate to severe mental health problems and risk.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and dedicated Psychologist interested in contributing to a high-quality mental health provision for our local boroughs. You will also be able to take a leadership role in supporting the Professional Lead with the wider developments with the SPA and its full integration with Tier 3 CAMHS.
You will be a Clinical Psychologist/Counselling Psychologist registered with the HCPC as a practitioner psychologist.

Main duties of the job
At the CAMHS SPA, we process and manage all new referrals for children and adolescents in Richmond and Kingston boroughs where there are concerns about emotional/mental health and developmental difficulties. The CAMHS SPA is integrated within Richmond and Kingston Children's Services and works closely with Children's social care, including working within the Multi Agency Support Hub (MASH) and our Tier 2 Emotional Health Service, provided through Achieving For Children. We also liaise closely with our GP, School and Health referrers, as well as local charitable and counselling support services to help signpost families to the most appropriate level of support.
Successful candidates must have:
- experience of working with children and young people in a variety of settings
- experience of work within a multi-disciplinary team and with multi-agency professionals
- the ability to relate and provide accessible services to a diverse community
- the ability to adapt to the fast-paced nature of SPA work, with good IT and computer recording skills to navigate between the various IT systems within CAMHS and the local authority.

- be able to deliver a range of evidence-based interventions

- Qualified Clinical Psychologist registered with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist under the domain of Clinical Psychologist, or Qualified Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist having successfully completed a training course recognised/accredited by the Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP) or equivalent, and registered with ACP, or Qualified Systemic Family Psychotherapist registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) via the College of Family Couple and Systemic Therapy.
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Post qualification training in the clinical supervision of trainees
