Job summary
South West London and St Georges Mental Health Trust is a single specialty provider of the full range of mental health services. It was established in 1994 initially providing services in the London Boroughs of Merton and Wandsworth. The Trust has grown substantially over the last few years, and now serves a local population of over 1 million people across the Boroughs of Kingston, Merton, Richmond, Sutton and Wandsworth.
The Trust provides comprehensive mental health and social care services for the local population including those with learning disabilities, children and adolescents, adults of working age and older people. In addition, we provide regional and national services, such as Eating Disorders, Personality Disorders, Forensics and Deaf services.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work on Ward 2, Springfield Hospital, a mixed 18 bedded adult acute admission ward, and will work with a ward doctor colleague who is a GP trainee.
Duties will include psychiatric clerking and routine medical care for inpatients, attendance and documentation at ward rounds, and administrative duties such as preparation of discharge summaries. The Trust uses the RiO system for electronic notes, and electronic prescribing. Training will be given on both.
