Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to work with young people who are struggling with a diverse range of challenges in mental health and social care. In this role you will be a key member of a Youth Justice CAMHS Team and will be involved in assessing and supporting young people who are entering the criminal justice system for the first time. This role will provide assessments, evidence-based psychological interventions, and consultation to other services. You will receive regular supervision, be a valued member of our regular team meetings and reflective spaces and will be provided with opportunities for growth and development.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic CAMHS Mental Health Practitioner with the appropriate professional qualification and experience to work in this well established and supportive multi-disciplinary Tier 2 CAMHS Service.
The post holder will carry out their clinical work in the YOT CAMHS team, therefore previous experience of working with this group of young people is desirable.
The YOT provides both statutory and non-statutory supervision for young people in the youth justice system in line with the National Protocol for Case Responsibility (2014). The non-statutory arm of the Youth Offending Service works with young people who have been given a Pre-Court disposal such as a Youth Caution, Youth Conditional Caution or Triage. The aim of the service is to divert young people away from any further contact with the youth justice system. The young person receives non statutory interventions which focus on the reasons why they have offended.
The statutory side of the service works with young people who have been made subject to community sentences including Referral Orders and Youth Rehabilitation Orders as well as those on bail or who have been remanded into custody. The service also works with young people serving custodial sentences.
The post holder will be supported to develop professionally in their role. A range of supervision is available including professional, clinical, peer and management. We also provide regular CPD and opportunities for reflection and growth
