Job summary

The Clinical Nurse role will be part of the Sutton CAMHS Single Point of Access provision in the London Borough of Sutton, to help and support the Child or Young Person at their most vulnerable time.

You will be based in the CAMHS Single Point of Assessment assisting with assessment and sign posting ensuring Children and Young People reach the most suitable pathway within the locally agreed time frames.

Another key function will be to support the integration of assessment where Children and Young People present with Mental Health / Emotional Well Being where there are also social contextual issues. The role will complement liaison between CAMHS and partner agencies.

An excellent opportunity for a Nurse to develop their CAMHS Nursing expertise by assisting the integrating of CAMHS with partners and stakeholders, helping to enhance the young person's journey.

Main duties of the job

  • To be based in the CAMHS Single Point of Access (SPA) assisting with assessment and sign posting ensuring Children and Young People reach the most suitable pathway within the locally agreed time frames
  • Have an agreed job plan with specified activity and throughput levels with the Clinical Consult Psychologist for Sutton & Merton CAMHS
  • To directly provide therapeutic support, assessment, consultation and treatment, taking responsibility for managing own caseload, while sharing case responsibility and treatment care with professionals from within CAMHS and across partnership agencies such as Children's Services.
  • To contribute to specialist multi-disciplinary self-harm assessment and treatment / intervention.
  • To provide consultation and supervision to professionals working with children and adolescents for risk management advice
