Main duties of the job

About the role:

We are seeking a registered Mental Health Professional to join our team as a DBT practitioner. There is earmarked funding for training for the post holder. If a core mental health professional without assessed psychotherapeutic training and/or DBT training and experience wishes to apply, they can be appointed at Band 6 whilst they do their DBT training and supervised experience (approx. 2 years).

This role is for a DBT Practitioner. We are a friendly, warm multi-disciplinary team who are passionate about working with people to reduce distress.

Our Trust headquarters is located within Springfield University Hospital in Tooting and we also operate in nearly 100 other locations throughout the UK. Training and Qualifications

Essential

  • oEducated to degree level or equivalent
  • oCore Mental Health Profession registered with an appropriate professional body (e.g., NMC, UKCP, HCPC)
  • oPost graduate qualification that includes supervised and assessed psychotherapeutic training OR
  • oFormal training and experience* in DBT (to intensive/upgrade level) if core mental health professional without assessed psychotherapeutic training and/or DBT training wishes to apply, they can be appointed at Band 6 whilst they do their DBT training and supervised experience*. *at least 2 years supervised experience, attended weekly consult, minimum 20 supervision sessions, worked with 4 clients, having completed with 2 clients, and have taught all 4 skills modules.

  • oPost registration qualification in group work
  • oAccreditation or working towards accreditation DBT.

  • oDemonstrable experience of working with adults with mental health problems in a variety of community settings
