The Specialist Perinatal Service is a passionate, dynamic, and committed service who is looking to recruit a Perinatal clinical nurse specialist. Although it would be an advantage, you do not need previous experience of working in perinatal mental health, as training and development is something we pride ourselves on with plenty of opportunities for team members to build on their skills and knowledge.We are dedicated to high quality, evidence-based practice.This post will support and prepare you for the transition from band 6 role to band 7 specialist role using the Competency Framework for Perinatal Mental Health Professionals.The successful candidate will have a full and comprehensive induction, with support and time to settle into your new role. Our team works with small caseloads of women who are pregnant and those in the post-natal period that have a mental health difficulty, we support them and their families at this important time their lives.
Main duties of the job
To contribute to the Perinatal model for assessment and treatment within the Perinatal Mental Health Community Services Team (the Perinatal Team) - working as a member of the multi-disciplinary team, providing individual, group and family work to clients where appropriate.To contribute to the further development of the Perinatal Team, working in collaboration with other members of the multidisciplinary team, including supporting the development of a Perinatal Training Programme.To liaise and work with other agencies in the relevant borough and other Trust services involved in the provision of care to the client group.

The team works across 3 sub teams, (Wandsworth, Kingston & Richmond, Sutton & Merton) and come together weekly for meetings and discussions on a regular basis. About our locations:
The service operates from a base at Springfield Hospital, but all clinical work is conducted from a variety of community sites, GP surgeries and Children centres. Staff can hot desk or hybrid work across the different trust sites below.
Tooting (Wandsworth)
Our Trust headquarters is located within the impressive grounds of Springfield University Hospital in Tooting and we also operate in nearly 100 other locations throughout the UK. This is easily accessible via the Northern Line (Tooting Bec Station) and via private transport. The Trust provides subsidised parking fares for all our substantive staff. Our main site is located immediately next to Tooting High Street where staff can easily access a range of shops, cafs and restaurants.
