South West London and St Georges Mental Health NHS Trust

Information:

This job is now closed

Job summary

Applications are invited for three Full time (10 sessions) Clinical Fellow posts at South West London and St George's Mental Health Trust, based at Springfield Hospital in Tooting. Two posts are for General Adult in-patient psychiatry, and one is in Older Adult in-patient psychiatry. They are established core training posts that have become unexpectedly available.

These posts are being offered at core trainee level, and the appointment would be at a grade based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant. Two of the posts (one general adult and one older adult psychiatry post) are for eight months starting 5th December 2022. The other general adult psychiatry post is for six months, starting February 2023. There is the possibility that posts could be extended, by mutual agreement.

Main duties of the job

Successful applicants will work at Springfield Hospital, as part of an MDT in modern in-patient psychiatric wards. For each of these posts, the clinical supervisor will be the ward consultant, all of whom are substantive consultants based solely on the wards. Each ward also has a second ward doctor (a core trainee), and a higher trainee.

The posts are suitable for doctors at several stages of their career including Post Foundation, doctors seeking attainment of specific expertise, or a clinical post while they obtain MRCPsych qualifications.

The posts will also suit doctors seeking to enhance their portfolio to gain entry to the training grades and doctors already in Non-training Grade positions e.g. SAS doctors or Trust Fellows who are seeking a formal educational structure to their posts.

Training, educational opportunities and appraisal will be available to successful candidates, including attendance at the weekly academic programme.
