Because of this success we are growing and we are pleased to offer a Band 2 - Maternity Housekeeper.
The purpose of the role of the ward housekeeper is to play an integral role in developing environmental standards of care for patients. They will support the Delivery Suite and Birth centre team in the management of the environment and focus on reaching standards that are important aspects of care delivery, such as cleanliness, catering services and maintenance of a safe and comfortable environment.
The post holder will have a working knowledge of procurement and will work closely with Midwifery team leaders to ensure optimum stock levels are in place and resourcing alternatives products if needed.
The post holder will assist the team to ensure the appropriate and effective delivery of the facilities service, in order to properly maintain the patient environment and services to the patients
This role is full time and requires on site working Monday to Friday.
Main duties of the job
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked ward environment, ensuring adequate linen, clinical supplies, and equipment availability at all times .
- Receive, check, and manage deliveries; liaise with procurement and suppliers to maintain stock levels.
- Support environmental standards through cleaning audits, room checks, fridge maintenance, and oversight of equipment repairs.
- Assist with meal coordination, menu completion, and provision of refreshments to support patients' nutritional needs.
- Welcome patients, prepare and clear bed spaces, and uphold privacy and dignity at all times.
- Undertake basic administrative duties including scanning, filing, and document management.
- Support infection prevention, safe storage of patient property, equipment checks, and urgent specimen transport.
- Work flexibly within a busy clinical environment, responding to changing priorities while maintaining high standards of care and safety.
- Participate in required training and ongoing professional development.
