Cardiology Receptionist

Job summary

Are you passionate about patient care and making a great first impression? We're looking for a friendly, professional Receptionist to join our Cardiology Department.

You'll be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, creating a welcoming environment while providing vital administrative support. You'll help ensure the smooth running of the department and support the coordination of clinical care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage appointments and maintain patient records

Main duties of the job

  • Greet all patients and visitors when they enter the department, establish which area they are to be seen in and redirect as appropriate.
  • To deal with telephone inquiries in a polite, helpful and courteous manner whilst making sure that patient confidentiality is maintained.
  • Maintaining EPR (Electronic Patient Record)databaseensuring that strict data accuracy and confidentiality is upheld in accordance with the Data Protection Act and the Access to Health Records Act.
  • Preparation and running of the daily clinics which are held within the Cardiology department, including diagnostics and walk in appointments.
  • To check in patients arriving in the department, and to ensure any patient DNA's are recorded promptly.
  • To book or reschedule any diagnostic tests within the cardiology department and send out the relevant test information to patients.
  • To book according to the diagnostic pathway guidelines when booking or re-arranging appointments or tests.
  • To liaise with cardiology technicians, cardiology manager and service managers for any appointment slot issues.
