Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a Physiotherapy assistant to join our friendly team of Physiotherapists all committed to working towards supporting children with disabilities and their families to help them realise their potential so they can participate and play in their own environment.

The post holder will work closely with children, families, and other allied health professionals to support the team to achieves its broader aims and ensure that our service remains evidence-based, high quality and child/family focused.

The workload may include working in clinics, homes, mainstream school, special school and will involve travelling to different bases in the community and occasionally work evening or weekend sessions to attend school or community events. The post holder will also carry out administrative duties to support the service.

Main duties of the job

You will also be involved with non-clinical and administrative tasks such as ordering specialist equipment, organising equipment trials, uploading referrals and recording and auditing data you have collected in group interventions.

Duties include:

  • Working with children and young people aged 0-19 from a variety of backgrounds.
  • Support group based interventions under the guidance of Physiotherapists
  • Carry out delegated 1:1 sessions with children in the Ark, community, home or schools, independently or with a Physiotherapist
  • Adapt, modify, progress and evaluate activities prescribed by a Physiotherapist
  • Independently record clinical records on our electronic record system
  • Complete Homerton support staff care certificate
