Job summary
We are seeking a committed and dynamic Specialty Doctor in Sexual and Reproductive Health to join our forward thinking team at Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. This is a 1.0 WTE fixed-term post, with flexibility for less than full-time working, including potential joint working with Women's Health. The role involves delivering high-quality care in our integrated sexual health clinics, including complex contraception, while contributing to teaching, supervision, and clinical governance. You'll play a key role in supporting a diverse patient population and have opportunities for leadership in education and training.
Main duties of the job
- Act as a senior decision-maker in busy, integrated sexual health clinics, managing a wide range of presentations including STIs and contraception, and supporting the multidisciplinary team.
- Deliver and develop contraceptive care services including subdermal implant and intrauterine device (IUD) fitting and removal, with the opportunity to train in complex removals.
- Provide clinical supervision and teaching to junior doctors, nurses, and FSRH trainees, and support the delivery of structured training sessions.
- To contribute to the development of clinical pathways for the service ensuring smooth running within the service and linking effectively with other associated services.
- Contribute to clinical governance activities including audit, quality improvement, and service development to enhance patient care and safety.
