Job summary
The obstetric and gynaecology department at Homerton hospital are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Locum Consultant to join the experienced team of 22 consultants. The post is for a general obstetrician-gynaecologist with a special interest in high-risk obstetrics and training.
The successful candidate will join a service which provides obstetrics, gynecology and fertility services for a diverse population from across East Central London and beyond. The hospital has a level 3 neonatal intensive care unit and a level 2 fetal medicine unit.
This post is full time (10 PAs) with an on-call commitment. The post holder will be supported by other consultants and pairing focuses on appropriate skill mix.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will enhance the patient experience by leading and delivering efficient, safe and high-quality antenatal care, prevention of preterm births and complex deliveries. They will need to engage with senior clinical leaders, staff and managers to problem solve, respond to patient queries, GP and midwifery queries, and to provide a high-quality service to our patients. They will participate in the staff training and implementation of national initiatives like the saving babies lives care bundle.
