Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Manager to fill our newly created post for Head of Sustainability and Net Zero within the Directorate of Estates & Facilities.
This position is vital to ensure that we continue to provide high levels of service to our patients and staff whilst managing the delivery of our Environmental, Sustainability responsibilities for achieving the Net Zero targets, that is in-line with the NHS Green Agenda.
Main duties of the job
To be the lead for the:
- Development of a sustainability and net zero carbon management strategy for HUH and implement to the agreed timescale.
- To manage the interface with Procurement for the procurement of energy and utilities and carbon credits.
- Provide regular reports to the HUH Board on sustainability related issues.
- Develop business cases to produce these improvements and present them to the appropriate Trust committees to gain approval to proceed; and project manage these to a successful conclusion including benefits realisation.
- Develop and deliver a programme of energy decarbonisation and sustainability measures to help achieve financial and carbon reduction targets.
- To lead and ensure sustainability is fully taken into account in the Trust's Estates and Medical Equipment and ICT and Procurement strategies and in the upgrading of infrastructure.
