Are you looking for a change and a chance to gain further experience in leading on home enteral tube feeding (HETF) in an innovative and supportive team?

An exciting opportunity has arisen in ACRT for a HETF and nutritional support lead dietitian to provide a service to residents of City and Hackney.

We are looking for a motivated, MDT player, looking to increase their leadership experience. You should have supervision skills and QI project experience to allow you to support other dietitians as well as take a lead with wider service developments.

You will hold a complex HETF caseload for clients living in their own homes and be responsible for running a variety of community-based clinics.

Excellent clinical knowledge of adult nutritional support, both oral and non-oral feeding, is essential. As the successful candidate, you will possess excellent clinical reasoning skills, a balance of empathy and emotional resilience and advanced communication skills. You will work with other AHPs and the support workforce as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team to deliver goal-orientated intervention.

You will have the opportunity to work as a neighbourhood link AHP and attend local and neighbourhood multi-disciplinary meetings.

We are committed to work-based education and training to improve clinical skills and we actively encourage CPD and audit. You will take an active part in training students and other staff.

Main duties of the job

  • To lead and develop the Home Enteral Feeding and Nutrition Support aspects of the community dietetic service to City and Hackney within available resources
  • To have a complex caseload of HETF patients and to keep up your skill mix by having a small caseload of housebound obese clients (those who are seen by the ACRT team)
  • To provide a clinical community dietetic service within a variety of settings, out-patient clinics and other venues as required including clients' homes however main responsibility is to develop and lead on the service and supervise junior team members.
  • To continuously review the service and adapt as required including monitoring success of rapid access clinics for urgent Nutritional Support patients.
  • To be a specialist HETF dietitian and point of contact for Trust employees on all aspects of HETF.
  • To create and lead on community nursing staff training in home enteral tube feeding.
