Job summary

We have an opportunityfor a musculoskeletal physiotherapist looking to enhance their clinical and non-clinical knowledge and skillsto join our innovative musculoskeletal physiotherapy team.

We have an excellent reputation for developing staff and offer a wide range of learning opportunities, such as:

  • Regular clinical supervision,plus daily APP and pain service question time
  • In-service training and individualised training such as funded MSc modules. We also support and host weekend courses.
  • Band 6 MSK development program

Our work on staff well-being was recognised in the 2023 national PENNA awards where we were finalists.

We offer MSK physiotherapy outpatient rotations at Homerton Hospital, St Leonards, City and Hackney community clinics and Ludwig Guttmann centre (Olympic park).

Homerton's award winning wider MSK teams consist of:

  • GP, consultant and self referred outpatient physiotherapy services
  • Post orthopeadic surgery rehabilitation, sports medicine, musculoskeletal ultrasonography,shockwave, virtual fracture clinic, non-medical prescribers and persistent pain service
  • Close working relationships with radiology, rheumatology, orthopaedics, podiatry and emergency medicine

Main duties of the job

Main duties include:

  • Specialist physiotherapy assessment of patients with diverse musculoskeletal presentations, providing a diagnosis and developing and delivering an individualised treatment programme.
  • Utilization of a variety of therapeutic modalitiesto enhance strength, flexibility, and functional movement.Alongside educating patients about their condition, treatment options, pain management and self-management strategies
  • Developing individualized treatment plans and rehabilitation programmes tailored to each patient's specific needs and goals and evaluate using appropriate outcome measures.
