Job summary

The Trust wishes to appoint an ambitious and motivated individual to support the operational management of the Emergency, Medicine and Rehabilitation Services Division (EMRS). The EMRS Division employs c.1,400 staff and is responsible for medical, community and emergency services across acute and community settings.

This post will provide general operational management and business support to a number of urgent care and medical services, as well as provide direct operational management of respective teams. The postholder will be fully involved in planning and achieving the divisions overall objectives and will work as a member of the divisional management team.

The successful candidate will possess the ability to work closely with senior clinicians, effectively manage performance against a range of standards and generate clear strategic plans for their services.

Main duties of the job

  • Work with the divisional management team, Associate Medical Director, Operations Director, Head of Nursing, Clinical Leads and Heads of Service to ensure the achievement of performance and other local and national clinical and non-clinical targets.
  • Work with the divisional management team within specific clinical areas and in partnership with operational managers and clinicians to ensure the effective provision of consistent quality services.
  • Provide first line operational management to outpatient and administrative departments and supervise systems and processes.
  • In liaison with the Head of Nursing, ensure appropriate systems and processes are established in departments and areas to support the robust reporting and progress of governance, risk and safeguarding issues
  • Manage designated financial resources within budget and support theOperations Director/Head of Nursing in financial management within the directorate
  • Support the development of service line reporting and service line management across the division
