Job summary

Homerton Healthcare are seeking a confident and proactive Service Manager to oversee the day to day running of our Cancer Administration Service.

The Cancer Administration team at Homerton are a well respected team who are passionate about ensuring cancer patients are treated in a timely manner. We achieve this through effective booking and patient tracking processes. Our team also coordinate all cancer MDT meetings at the Trust.

We are excited about ongoing pathway improvements at Homerton such as the introduction of new straight to test pathways. There are opportunities for the Service Manager to be involved in several different improvement projects, working alongside the divisional teams.

The successful candidate will have previous experience of team management and working with clinicians. They will also be experienced in analysing and communicating data. Knowledge of the National Cancer Waiting Times Rules and Targets is also essential.

Main duties of the job

To support the provision and strategic development of cancer services at the Homerton Hospital in line with the NHS Long term Plan and Cancer Reform Strategy. To support the Trust achieving its cancer waiting times targets and National and Local Cancer Standards across all divisions.

To support the Cancer Team; ensuring that the work of the team and the delivery of cancer services are integrated into the business of the hospital.

To manage the day to day running of the Cancer Administration Team, including the Cancer Referrals Office and MDT Coordinator Team. Ensuring patients are booked and tracked in line with National Cancer Guidance.

To manage weekly, monthly and quarterly data submissions including but not limited to SACT, COSD and Cancer Waiting Times (CWT) data.
