Job summary

The postholder will work within an established psychosexual service located within Homerton Sexual Health Services (HSHS) and will offer specialist psychological and psychosexual assessment and treatment to adults presenting with sexual difficulties and trauma. The postholder will offer advice, training, and consultation on patients' care to non-psychologist colleagues working within the wider MDT. The postholder will work within professional guidelines and the overall framework of HSHS and HSHS Psychology Team's policies and procedures.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide an integrated psychosexual and trauma treatment model which aims to treat complex psychosexual problems.
  • Provide specialist psychological assessments of patients referred to HSHS Psychology Service based upon the appropriate use, interpretation, and integration of psychological and behavioural data
  • Formulate and implement treatment plans which includes a focus on mental health, relational and behavioural difficulties as they manifest in the sexual arena.
  • Be responsible for providing and receiving highly complex, sensitive, distressing and emotional information in relation to mental health and sexual health related issues.
  • Undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual patients as appropriate.
