Job summary
The post holder will support the Fertility Department in the day to day delivery of the embryology and andrology service by performing appropriate scientific duties, as well as supporting the routine laboratory maintenance by participating and or leading on cleaning, stock management, culture dish preparation, quality control, witnessing & traceability.
The post holder will work alongside other members of the laboratory team to provide technical and administrative support to the clinical laboratory. You will participate in providing a comprehensive semen analysis service according to World Health Organisation (WHO) and The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) standards. The post holder will be expected to deliver the highest standards of patient care in line with national regulation and Trust policy.

- Prepare laboratory worksheets and check that all appropriat
- screening and consents are in place and signed by the patient/couple for treatment, storage and disposal in accordance with HFEA Code of Practice and local SOPs.
- To prepare media and culture dishes for all procedures according to laboratory SOPs.
- To participate with regular rolling audits of the cryopreserved gametes and embryos in storage.
