The Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is offering an exciting opportunity for you, a motivated and inspirational midwife, to join our Maternity Department as a Band 6 Midwife, with plenty of opportunities to rotate in different departments:- Delivery Suite- Birth Centre-Emergency Obstetric Unit- Antenatal and Postnatal Wards-Antenatal Clinic-Community Teams

Our rotational post it is an exciting opportunity to utilise and develop your midwifery skills across low and high-risk settings, as well as gain relevant experience including a community driven antenatal pathway with a dedicated case loading Homebirth Team, an Obstetric led (but Midwifery influenced) Delivery Suite with the very popular Midwifery Led Birth Centre. We are able to offer hydrotherapy and water birth where clinically appropriate throughout all of our departments.

Main duties of the job

  • The post holder will be a member of a team of midwives providing all aspects of midwifery care within the hospital and community setting, on a rotational basis.
  • The post holder will be responsible for the provision of evidence-based midwifery care working in partnership with women.
  • Ability to work as an autonomous practitioner.
  • Ensure you fulfil your obligations to work responsibly; always evidencing your accountability to the women, the Trust, the NMC and your Supervisor of Midwives.
  • An integral part of the role will be the provision of clinical management and leadership in the absence of the Team Leader.
