Job summary

Community CAMHS is a large mental health service comprising pathways and services from tier 1 (mental health and well being in schools) all the way up to preventing accessing tier 4 beds via a high intensity pathway. We are embedded within the acute and community services for City and Hackney, working in multi disciplinary ways with physical and community health partners through the Homerton Healthcare, which is leading the neighborhoods agenda. We work in an integrated way with other mental health services within the borough, via a CAMHS Alliance. Due to developments within the NDT integration pathways an exciting new opportunity has arisen for an:

Assistant Psychologist to join the CAMHS Disability Service at the Hackney Ark. We are a forward thinking, passionate team supporting children and young people with disability and their families. This is a full-time role, on a 1 year fixed term contract. Main duties of the job

The post holder will:

  • Support with referral management at the Single Point of Access, including scoring of screening packs and collating key information to aid with triage.
  • Support triage functions within the Single Point of Access for neurodevelopmental referrals.
  • Support case information gathering for cases between Specialist CAMHS and SCAC NDT pathways to inform best practice service delivery and case transfer policy
  • Support clinical work of qualified staff in relation to ASD e.g. reports, outcome measures and group interventions
  • Contribute to ASD assessments across CAMHS Alliance services as required
  • Support low-intensity (Tier 2) interventions for young people with Autism and/or ADHD
  • Support in the delivery of evidence based group work for ASD and maintain a database for group-work and workshops (Mind the Gap, Pegasus, Early Bird(+))
  • Develop clinical resources for ASD work including teaching and training
  • Maintain clear records of referrals management and all clinical activity (RiO)
  • Work closely with the CAMHS Alliance PMO to conduct a review of the Neurodevelopmental Pathways in City and Hackney
  • Support in the collection and analysis of service level data
  • Conduct Pathway mapping exercises
  • Assist with audit activities
  • Support and implement CYP IAPT and other data collection/data management processes (CORC)
