The resultant service works across Homerton University Hospital Foundation Trust and Hackney Education and has grown into a large and dynamic team that delivers innovative models of working.

We are proud to be commissioned by health, education and schools in Hackney and out of borough as well Youth Justice and Virtual Schools for Looked After Children. We have a strong relationship with schools and alternative providers and are growing in traded services.

Main duties of the job

The well regarded Hackney Speech and Language Therapy service operates a comprehensive service within the borough's primary and secondary schools, alternative provisions and FE colleges. Over a number of years we have established robust systems and practices. As a result the service we deliver is highly regarded by families and schools.

This is an exciting opportunity to take on the role of leading our secondary schools and post 16 team. You will be working closely with one other Band 7 therapist leading on this service area. The service to secondary schools/post 16 is overseen by a Clinical Lead Specialist.

You will have a thorough knowledge of a wide range of clinical conditions, and an understanding of the school context. Outstanding interpersonal skills and problem solving capacity are required.

You will be well supported via robust clinical supervision and have access to excellent CPD opportunities.

We embrace flexible working and will consider applicants who wish to work part-time. Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment would be an advantage.
