Job summary

To work efficiently within a multi-disciplinary team to provide administrative assistance within the Trust and services offered by the trust. Scope and Range To provide a professional and efficient service. To communicate effectively with other staff members. To assist with the smooth running of Respiratory outpatients and breathlessness pathway. There is no requirement to line management of staff in this position.

Main duties of the job

To speak with patients on the telephone to advise of bookings. To greet all patients in a warm and friendly manner. To treat all patients at all times in a sensitive, honest and courteous manner. To advise and direct patients throughout their visit, maintaining good customer relationship and care. To assist patients with outpatient administrative queries. To receive patients into clinic, ensuring that all personal details are correct on the hospital information system (Alex Health) and change details as required. To book patients on Alex Health to show attendance. To answer the department phone in a polite and friendly manner, dealing with day-to-day queries or efficiently forwarding the call to the appropriate person. To carry out any other clerical duties which may arise within the department. To complete any other administrative duties as required. To deal with enquiries from all service users in a helpful, courteous and diplomatic manner. To work flexibly according to the needs of the service, including cover of colleagues during periods of leave. To work on own initiative and make confident decisions as required to ensure efficient service.

The Respiratory team are on the lookout for a hardworking, organised individual to join the team. This role is a great fit for passionate, enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to support in leading the department to excellence.

There is a full-time position, working in administration. The hours are Mon-Fri 9-5pm. We encourage everyone to apply even if there is no prior NHS experience as full training is provided on appointment.

You will be providing a comprehensive administrative service in support of the multidisciplinary team, using a professional and customer-centred approach to all patients and their families who are undergoing care at The Princess Alexandra Hospital and St Margaret's Hospital.
