MRI Clinical Specialist Radiographer

Job summary
The post holder will act a senior specialist in the MRI departments at the acute site at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and at the CDC hub site at St. Margaret's Hospital to help further develop an efficient MRI service. They will also participate in the training of radiographers and students in all aspects of MRI scanning, including comprehensive competency assessments in conjunction with the MRI Superintendent, MRI Practice Educator, and MRI Modality Lead.
A primary focus of the role is to develop and maintain the MRI service alongside the senior MRI team, standardising protocols, managing the patient bookings and waiting lists, and to facilitate the rotation of radiographers throughout the department.
Main duties of the job
Ensure protocol standardization across both MRI sites at PAH and SMH
Actively promote ideas for service improvement
Monitor image quality and proactively suggest improvements
Monitor patient workflow and proactively suggest improvements
In the absence of senior MRI colleagues, lead the MRI service at PAHT
Work closely with the MRI bookings team to ensure appropriate utilization of day lists
Appraise relevant members of the MRI team
Ensure radiology assistants are appropriately trained
Ensure all areas of MRI safety guidelines are thoroughly and routinely followed
Actively seek evidence-based practices developed elsewhere, which could be used to develop service delivery
Provide direct supervision and support to all members of the MRI team
Undertake all aspects of MRI scanning to a highly proficient level
Ensure the MRI team works inline with the MRI local rules and local policies
Develop and maintain relationships and effective communication mechanisms with staff and their representatives in a multi-disciplinary team to provide an effective and efficient MRI service
Work closely with the MRI scanner manufactures to organize service dates and ensure all software is utilized correctly
