Job summary
The post holder will be expected:
To be an efficient and flexible member of the CDC Management team providing a quality service to service users.
To maintain and develop the department Quality management system in collaboration with the Imaging Quality, Risk and Patient Safety ManagerDevelop
Lead and advise on a programme to attain the Quality Standards for Imaging (QSI) across all modalities
Develop, lead and advise on a programme to attain the Improving Quality in Physiological services (IQIPS) across the physiologies within the community diagnostic centre
Represent the Trust at sector level when the Imaging Network move towards Quality Standard for Imaging networks (QSIN)
To facilitate the department team to perform / document audits against defined National quality performance measures e.g. QSI
To develop and manage clinical quality improvement action plans in conjunction with clinical Teams
The CDC Hub site will go live in early January 2026 and there is a need for the centre to reach UKAS accreditation within 2 years of then. This role will help facilitate that accreditation.
Main duties of the job
To ensure all clinical physiological services across the community diagnostic centres gain and retain their Improving Quality in Physiological Services (IQIPS) accreditation
To ensure all modalities within Imaging at the community diagnostic centres meet the accreditation requirements of QSI and other regulatory/quality requirements
To help develop Modality SOPs that complement QSI and IQIPS Accreditation
Develop and implement strategies for Imaging & Clinical Physiological Sciences to gain accreditation in line with the Trusts Clinical Governance programme and Clinical Risk Management System ensuring a consistent, Imaging and community diagnostic centre wide approach that will ensure the continual improvement of the quality of patient care and the patient experience.
Monitor the functionality and effectiveness of the Quality Management system, make recommendations for improvement and work with Senior Managers to develop and implement action plans.
Monitor and co-ordinate the implementation of Trust Risk Management and Quality Assurance policies and systems ensuring a consistent and proactive approach to reduction of clinical risk, to promote clinical effectiveness and a safe and healthy environment in line with the Quality strategy.
Ensure compliance with requirements of external Quality Assurance schemes and that all internal Quality Assurance is monitored to QSI and IQIPS
