Job summary
The successful applicant will provide a comprehensive high quality Respiratory and General Medicine service. The job at PAH could change with the future developments of the service or the interests of the individual by mutual agreement. The main duties and responsibilities of the post include:- Active participation in the management and development of the specialty and the introduction of new services. Contribution to the General Medicine educational programme, including weekly departmental meetings and teaching. Join clinical supervision of STs in RespiratoryMedicine. Participation in Multidisciplinary Team Meetings, both specialty and ward based. Participation in medical audit and review of performance for the Service against the National Targets for Lung Cancer. Participation in the Trust consultant appraisal process. Achievement of the requirements for Continuing Professional Development as laid down by the Royal College of Physicians. Main duties of the job
We are delighted to offer the opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join our friendly team. The Department of Respiratory Medicine at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) is seeking to appoint a committed full-time Consultant Physician in Respiratory PAHT is a forward-thinking, friendly district general hospital with a cohesive respiratory department that already provides a wide range of core respiratory services and has good working relationships with our London Partnership Trusts and the Royal Papworth Hospital.
This is a full time post with 10 PA allocation, with the option for an additional 1 PAs if the candidate wishes to join the NIV on call rota. It is subject to the provisions of the Terms and Conditions of the new consultant contract (2003).
Applicants must be on the Specialist Register of the GMC and hold a licence to practice, or be eligible for inclusion on the register within six months of the interview date.
