Clinical fellow (CT1 equivalent) in Anaesthetics and Intensive care

Job summary

We are seeking to appoint a clinical fellow at CT1 level doctor in Anaesthetics at the Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust, Harlow.

These positions are suitable for candidates who may wish to pursue a career in anaesthetics/Critical care and who might wish tosample the specialty or to gain experience in order to strengthen their application to a CT rotation. Alternatively they might suitcandidates who wish to pursue a complementary specialty in which anaesthetics experience is required. Previous experience in thespeciality is not required.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be required to provide a range of anaesthetic services for patients at Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust.

The majority of clinical time will be under the supervision of a senior anaesthetist, however, there is some allowance for locally supervised lists as part of the placement.The exact duties will depend on the experience of the successful applicant and the needs of the department and will include attending elective and emergency theatre lists, visiting patients on wards as necessary pre- and post-operatively and otherwise as required, and to carry out duties as decided by the senior anaesthetic staff. It will also include cover of daytime and out-of-hours on-call commitments to maternity services and intensive care.
