Job summary

An exciting opportunity is available for a Dietitian to join the Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust, within the adult Dietetic team. You will cover a variety of wards, and will have the opportunity to work within specialities such as medicine, surgery and respiratory. You will also cover a general outpatient clinic, which is likely to include referrals for oral nutrition support and patients with non-complex gastroenterology diagnoses. It will be possible to shadow senior dietitians to gain experience in other areas.

We have regular internal CPD sessions within our team. You will also have the opportunity to apply for funding for courses and other CPD activities, which will be considered when CPD budgets are allocated.

Main duties of the job

  • To work within a team of Dietitians to provide a dietetic service to adult services within the Trust. This will include working across a range of acute wards, and covering an outpatient clinic.
  • To be responsible for the dietetic assessment, treatment and management of adult inpatients and outpatients, whose conditions require dietary intervention.
  • To act as a source of expertise on the dietary management and treatment or a diverse range of conditions, to patients and other health care professionals.
  • To participate in audits, to help ensure that a high-quality service is provided for patients.
  • To work with other members of the nutrition and dietetic department to update and develop evidence-based resources, such as leaflets and diet sheets.
