Job summary

Following retirement of our exising Office Manager, the Department of Cellular Pathology welcomes applications for the post.

The role requires an engaging and organised person with the skills required to manage a small team of medical secretaries and clerical assistants in support of a our Consultant Pathologists, Specialist Trainee Drs and Laboratory staff. the role ensures that diagnostic reports are processed in an accurate and efficient manner, liasing with the lab and clinical teams supporting specialist referrals.

The post holder will also support cancer services, providing information and preparation for the local MDTs that are held every day.

The role requires the use of multiple systems such as TDHC (Laboratory Information System), ICE, Spine, Multiple other site requesting and referral portals and basic It systems such as Excel and Word.

Main duties of the job

Manage and supervise office team

  • manage all leave requests
  • carry out team meetings and appraisals
  • support consultant body - attending senior meetings
  • Ensure support for clinical reports as required
  • Provide liason with coroner services to ensure compliance with HTA licensable activities
  • Providing support to service for all accreditation and license activities, including management of SOPs
  • Ensure all duties around referrals, data inputting, MDT preparation, cancer books, genomic reports are all completed and audited
  • Ensure cancer registry is completed
  • Support and carry out audits to ensure compliance is maintained.
  • Ordering and stock maintenance of stationary and office consumables.
