These are exciting times for The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust, we are on a maternity transformation journey and there has been a great deal of investment in our maternity services to support the changes.

We are looking for Maternity care assistants to join our Antenatal Clinic team at PAH.

Our maternity care assistants (MCA) works as part of the wider multidisciplinary team carrying out a range of tasks that focus on housekeeping, administration and the personal care of mothers, birthing people and babies.

We are looking for MCAs that will put women and their families first and deliver a safe quality service, ensuring The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust is the preferred place of birth as well as the preferred place of employment.

Main duties of the job

Maternity Care Assistants work alongside registered practitioners and other members of the maternity care team who provide direct delivery of care to women, birthing people and their families.

You will undertake care tasks, as part of routine care for women, birthing people and their babies, and for which they have been appropriately trained and under the direction of the midwife. Assisting with assessments of health care needs, undertaking roles and responsibilities that have been delegated by the registered midwife.
