Job summary
The post is designed to allow part time educational activities. Any arrangement agreed will be for a maximum of 4 sessions per week in medical education and 6 sessions with emergency medicine. This represents a unique opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in medical education as well as providing valuable experience in the emergency department. It will be enjoyable, fulfilling and relevant to the future practise of any doctor. The post will allow sufficient time to explore this area in detail and develop original ideas. It will enhance professional and personal development and be flexible enough to allow independent study.
The Medical Educational component of the post will be supervised by the Senior Medical Education Fellow and will work closely alongside a group of 4 junior clinical fellows who are employed clinically full time in the trust.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to work flexibly between medical education and the emergency department, working a maximum of 40 hours in total each week. There will be no on call commitment but addition work paid pro rata through the NHS professional can be undertaken. Example of weekly timetable (to be agreed individually)
This job description may be subject to change according to the varying needs of the service. Such changes will be made after discussion between the post holder and the manager. All duties must be carried out under supervision or within Trust policy and procedure.
